Sachin Tendulkar is India’s jaan. We may go through days that we totally detest particular personalities in the nation, but Sachin is eternally loved. The maestro has won a number of awards in the past and you can be darn sure, he will continue to receive more accolades. And this is not just because the cricketer is the best in the world but also because he is one of the most humble and patriotic individuals that India has produced.

The Homemakers of West Bengal Donning New Hats!

Posted in

It’s a beautiful Monday morning here. Hubby just left for an early morning meeting, the little one happily enjoying the morning siesta. Holding on to my morning cuppa I thought this is the apt time to call a friend of mine in India. She’s a home-maker, a mother of two. She stays with her family in a remote part of West Bengal. We haven’t met for years now but every time we catch up on phone its with the same zeal and fervor that we exchange stories of our lives. This time the excitement was much more than expected.

Telewoking - flexibility is the key word

Posted in

I have several friends working in organisatons ,where the employers have recognised the needs of their employees, and have allowed them to work from home. 'Teleworking', as this is called, is a boon to a lot of employees.. I envy them because they don’t have to rush in the morning working like a robot to reach their place of work in time. Their children never feel lonely at home and moms can attend them when they are ill without taking leave. I remember I’d to lock my children at home when they were very young and it used to be a cause of anxiety for both my husband and me.

The Moori Seller

Posted in

The rustic charm, simplicity and the broad smile of this man attracted me the first day he came to my door step one summer afternoon. He kept the huge sack, he was carrying on his head on the floor of the terrace and grinned at me from the doorway saying it’s so cool under the shade .He opened his big sack and offered me a fistful of puffed rice to taste.
