Life Lessons for Children's Day

My daughter leaves the kitchen thumping her feet, frustrated, with arms crossed and frowns ,complaining “That’s not fair”! All this for denying her ice cream before dinner. Hearing statements like “That’s not fair” from my kids, rattle my nerves. All too often I have heard children complaining “Life’s not fair!”

Extra Curricular Activities - How Much is Too Much For Your Kids

This morning, at work, I received a call from the meeting organiser that she can't schedule a meeting for me until mid-october as my outlook calendar is full and asked me to make space for an urgent upcoming meeting. Trying to make space for this sudden meeting I see that the calendar is full for next 2 weeks and some of them are back to back. I see myself being overscheduled ….again! And it’s not just at work!

Paromita, is a brilliant student from Presidency college in Kolkata. Now settled in Bangalore with her husband, she works for an IT firm where she heads the HR department. Paromita and her husband have bought an apartment in a posh locality of the city and live a happy life. Promita is 33, she has no children and she is a friend.

One Fine Morning

The Alarm tone is set on my favorite tune but still it doesn’t make me get out that cozy bed early this morning…. "Mike, get up you have an appointment at 8 this morning and please let me sleep for another 10 minutes." I murmur, pull the blanket from him and get back to my sleeping world. "Give me 5 minutes and I will get up" Mike blurts out in his sleep and gets back into deep sleep.
