Immortal Memories- Part 2

Posted in

One of those days…. when you get up in the morning and you feel you have gone many many years back in your life. Your old memories, the extra special moments shared with close ones and not so close ones, the places you visited with your good friends , the song that resonated with the romances of those times, the innocence of childhood, the enthusiasm of adolescence and so much more... Whosoever said looking back is not an advisable thing did not have any past to boast about!!

Shudhh Shakahari Desi- "Hakuna Matata"

"Shudhh Shakahari Desi" is all about you and me: my exposure and experiences with your culture, your food, your language, your music blended in a humor curry of my own hopeless attempts to become you and my struggle to evolve as the sole epitome of National Integration, as I grew up and cultivated my own self embracing all of my nation in over 15 states in India.

 Chapter 3
When you think of an alien, you imagine little green creatures with bulging eyes and frog feet. Why on earth were we ever called ‘aliens’ in Thailand beats me.
It’s strange to be dismissed as an ‘alien’ after living in a country for ten years.

 Chapter 2
It’s been 20 years since we left India for a better life as an expat in South East Asia. Not for a day did we sleep fitfully.
It’s been three weeks since we left South East Asia for a better life in Canada. Not for a day did we sleep well.

The first week we could blame it on severe jet lag. An eleven hour time difference between Asia and this part of the world could make even a migratory bird lose sleep.

A warm hello to B'khush

Posted in

A very warm hello to the lovely ladies at B'khush! I'm honoured to be added to the family by our very own Ms. Antara Chakraborty. It is uplifting to see that this online publication is making a positive effort in bringing together Asian women the world over, on a single forum. Members scattered across the globe are thus cordially strung together through the B'khush thread. What could be a more agreeable place to be in! I'm an Indian based in Dubai, the land of golden sun and sands.
